Executive Assessment: The Executive Development Profile

Do you have the right leaders to take your business to the next level?

Profiling executives is a core part of our DNA. Our Executive Development Profile (EDP) has won recognition as one of the most thorough and incisive in the business.  The process, used for hiring and developing senior level talent, provides rich, substantial insights into your leaders’ distinctive qualities, their spike strengths and their stretches.  Tailored towards C-suite and other senior executives, our experienced consultants conduct the process with your business objectives, culture and organizational values front of mind.

The EDP comprises:

  • A pre-brief and debrief with the business leader and/or HR business partner commissioning the assessment to ensure we are immersed in the business context.
  • An in-person, half-day biographical assessment during which we explore the individual’s career and background, achievements, performance, influences and challenges as well as the personal and psychological characteristics that underpin the person’s success.  We also use psychometric tools to gain a deeper understanding of the individual.  The information gathered from the psychometrics is fed back during the assessment and used to promote further discussion.
  • A report describing the person’s characteristics, job-relevant strengths, development needs and longer-term potential.
  • An optional two hour feedback and coaching session which provides an opportunity to discuss the report and start building on the insights it offers. Regardless of whether the process is for hiring or development, the response we get is that the EDP experience is enlightening, accurate and thought-provoking.

Management Assessment: YSC VIEW

How do you assess and develop your managers in a cost and time effective way?

We recognize the pivotal role that managers and professionals play in driving and achieving organizational success. However, knowing how precious your managers’ time is and how many competing priorities they have to juggle, we have designed the VIEW specifically for assessing and developing junior and mid-level managers. Using our renowned leadership experience and expertise, we developed a shorter, more time effective process for evaluating managers’ core qualities, their signature strengths, areas for growth, and their potential.

As with the EDP, the VIEW can be used to inform hiring decisions and for development.  Prior to the VIEW assessment, the individual completes a brief series of psychometrics online. The assessment itself comprises an in-depth two hour interview conducted by a skilled psychologist.  The interview covers a biographical and career review, together with a look to the future. The psychometrics are used as a means of informing but never dictating our insights, and the outcomes are fed back during the interview.  The process culminates with a focused report and the opportunity for a feedback session for all individuals that participate in the VIEW experience.  In response to global requirements, the VIEW can be done by telephone or video-conferencing to reduce traveling time and opportunity costs for the individual and organization.

Executive Coaching

Our approach to coaching is all about enabling business leaders to unleash their full potential, overcome challenges and personal blockages, and move forward for the benefit of the organization.  We provide executive coaching based on the following principles:

Coaching is concerned with tangible improvements in personal effectiveness.  It is primarily future-focused, applying techniques and insights that make a positive and profound difference to business performance.

Our coaching process aims to achieve alignment between business values and personal values, between leadership requirements and leadership position, and between business goals and personal goals.

  • We combine challenge to imagine the possible and stretch to be the best with support to let go of the old and rehearse the new.
  • We work to tailored coaching contracts aimed at addressing specific developmental objectives as defined by the client organization and agreed by the individual.  A typical contract would be six coaching sessions over six months to work on three or four objectives.
  • Regular “check backs” with the individual’s manager and/or corporate sponsor to ensure progress is being made in the right direction.
  • Coaching that takes place within an agreed code of confidentiality and other ethical considerations. Our coaches are recognized for their combination of interpersonal and commercial wisdom at the highest level. Our Executive Coaching Service provides the capacity to match and manage coaches for the needs of the largest companies and offers managed coaching to client organizations.
