HRPS 2009 Fall Executive Forum:  October 25-27, 2009 – Chicago, IL

In 2006, Gurnek Bains, CEO of YSC Limited, led a research team to initiate work in response to his observations that people are growing increasingly apathetic with the role that work plays in their lives. He and his colleagues noticed a disparity between organizations reporting and celebrating steadily increasing employee engagement data and the experiences shared by leaders and executives during coaching and benchmarking sessions with YSC. The research culminated in 2008 with the publication of Meaning Inc., a book providing a fresh, new perspective on what organizations need to do to win the hearts and minds of their people.

Learn about the model of meaning put forward in the book and how you can build a Meaning Inc. of your own. YSC is delighted to be joined in this session by Leslie Dixon, the Chief HR Officer of Robert W. Baird, an employee-owned, international wealth management, capital markets, private equity and asset management firm with offices in the USA, Europe and Asia. The firm is proud to have been recognized in the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the previous 6 years and was ranked #14 in 2008. Dixon will share the Baird story and look at the similarities and differences between their approach and the Meaning Inc. model.
